VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION & HOSPICE OF THE FLORIDA KEYS AND KEYS-BASED ARTISTS MAP OUT BEAUTIFUL ART FOR ANNUAL APPEAL

–Artist gifts nonprofit with art inspired by map of the Florida Keys–

For the second year, Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Florida Keys has asked an artist living in the Florida Keys to showcase his/her  original artwork on the cover of VNA/Hospice’s Annual Appeal. The artist renders an interpretation of the island chain depicted on the Florida Keys map, incorporating the distinctive VNA/Hospice heart  logo, in his/her own vision and artistic medium. Inspired by life in the glorious Florida Keys and the wonderful work of VNA/Hospice, the resulting art has been stunning.

This year, 2013, Marathon artist Sheila Jean Cook was chosen to create the cover art for the VNA/Hospice Annual Appeal. Sheila owns The Art Studio, a recently opened, family-oriented art center hosting pottery and glass art workshops, as well as walk-in activities, marrying art education and creativity. Her spectacular oil painting envisions the map of the Florida Keys chain of islands accentuated by a striking backdrop of the VNA/Hospice logo.  “I am honored to be given the opportunity to provide this year’s cover art for the annual appeal.  It was both personally and creatively very fulfilling for me to illustrate the loyal bond between VNA/Hospice and the Florida Keys island communities in my work,” noted Ms. Cook.
