Nothing Changes—If Nothing Changes
The cultural decline and vacuum confronting our children has been filled by a plethora of entertainment whose technological emphasis is on violence. Internet games and videos have seductively taken the minds of these very young and impressionable kids to a place where some find joy, comfort and excitement when they are able to rapidly kill the characters set before them on their video screens.
Their skills are sharpened as they progress towards the upward realms of each challenge. Upon maxing out their ‘confirmed kills’ on one level, they promptly move to their next murderous challenge. These mindless scenarios are continuing to play themselves out in epidemic proportions.
The emotional, spiritual and physical decline of our children is a clear and present reality that is playing itself in our educational system. At present, our students rank behind Vietnam, Lithuania and Hungry.
In addition, chronic violent video and auditory stimuli has dumbed down the capacities of children to feel empathy and compassion towards others. This downward spiral has been going on for decades and nothing of any import has been done to correct it.
Violent thoughts and emotional detachment have gained a stranglehold on many children. They competitively pursue these games into adulthood. At a point it appears that some of these violent game players become mesmerized with the self-induced pleasure gotten from the ease and proficiency, with which they are able to increase their dominance over the factitious people they kill. A self-induced desensitization towards these simulated murderous rampages has created a moral vacuum for many children.
Studies indicate these malleable brains become satiated with stimulating chemicals while engaged in these activities. It produces a state of arousal that is desirable and addictive. These impulses establish neuro pathways that can be hard wired into a child’s brain.
Evidence suggests that after a person becomes satiated with these theoretical killings, some are drawn to participate in an actual event where a life is taken. Their normal bombardment of violent visual stimuli no longer satisfies them. This need to up the ante, so that a pleasured state of mind might be achieved is an unusually strong impulse.
As society allows its children to be exposed to a steady stream of violence, United States law forbids the medical treatment of a baby who survives a botched late-term abortion. The onslaught of violence continues, not the softer and gentler change that was promised.
Many children are a mess by the time they arrive at school. This type of negative stimulation shapes and molds the framework of their existence. Unless a breakthrough is attained, they will lack a foundation to build upon.
Mental Health begins at home. Sick, crazed and violent adults breed the same in their children. Pie in the sky approaches at improving the plight of kids are empty and ineffective. Donnelly is ‘spot on’ in his review. Not only decrease exposure to violent escapades, substitute the time spent destroying oneself, with creative and constructive activities that build poise, confidence and self-respect. When will our schools respond to the real needs of our students? Vietnam was bombed by us for 16 straight years. This nation was completely obliterated. They were literally
bombed back into the ‘Stone Age”. Yet… the students in our public school system rank behind those in Vietnam… How can that be???
Obama’s base in Hollywood should want to assist in decreasing the levels of violence and vulgarity flooding through society. It’s not about debasing the culture any longer, it’s just too dangerous to live in this aggressive culture. It continues to worsen year after year and nothing has been done by the President to correct this threat to our children and country.
President Obama cannot do it alone. He and the first family have set a peaceful tone in their lives and home. Many republicans are unwilling to work with him. I believe they prefer that he fail. When our president fails, the American people fail. I really haven’t seen any republican leadership working hard to provide the people with a viable alternative.
