Key West’s Only Apple Retailer Promotes Taylor Amon

Don Mayer, CEO, of Small Dog Electronics, the newest and only Apple specialist in the Keys, announced that Taylor Amon has been promoted to assistant store manager at their store on Truman Ave.

The New England-based Apple specialist retailer – the “new dog in town” – moved to Key West in mid-August. Amon has worked for Small Dog in their Vermont-based headquarters for the past eight years. Their Key West store is their most distant location to date as the company has expanded within Vermont, then to New Hampshire and now in the Keys.

Amon, a native Vermonter, jumped at the opportunity to move to the Keys and help manage the newest store in the Small Dog family. “Our Top Dog (CEO), Don Mayer, discussed the opportunity with me around Halloween and three weeks later, I ended up here,” says Amon. “I like it – the community culture is very similar to Vermont – except for the climate! I need to get used to the heat.

While in Vermont, Amon earned various Apple certifications in recent years. He is qualified as an Apple Certified Mac Technician, Apple Certified Support Professional, and an Apple Certified Sales Professional.

Amon is excited to be out of Vermont for the first time in his life. “We get a lot done at Small Dog and still manage to have a great time. We’ll work hard and play hard – something that should be easy to do in Key West.”
