Impromptu Classical Concerts Welcomes Cellist Gabriel Cabezas
The sixth and final Impromptu Classical Concerts subscription presentation will be a Rising Star performance by gifted 21 year old cellist Gabriel Cabezas at Saint Paul’s Church, 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 16th. He will be accompanied on piano by Andrew Tyson, a recipient of an Avery Fisher Grant. The Rising Star Concert Series, in honor of arts patron Gail Williams Munder, spotlights the talents of a new generation of classical musicians.
Mr. Cabezas has performed with the New York Philharmonic, The Chicago Symphony, The New World Symphony, and the Cleveland Orchestra. His television appearances include performances with Yo-Yo Ma on “The Tavis Smiley Show” and “Good Morning America”, and with Béla Fleck in “From The Top – Carnegie Hall.” This is a young man who is clearly well on his way.
While Mr. Cabezas’ concert is the last of the season’s subscription series, Impromptu Classical Concerts will present a special, non-subscription performance by the acclaimed Chamber Orchestra Kremlin at Tennessee Williams Fine Art Center, on Sunday March 30, 4:00 pm. The special concert is in commemoration of the 100th birthday of well-loved arts patron Florence Fox-Loeb, and is sure to be a highlight of the 2014 season.
Tickets for Gabriel Cabezas Concert are $ 20 at the door one hour before the performance, by calling: 305.743.2283, or online: Keystix.com. All students free.
