Former Key West Citizen Reporter John DeSantis Seeks Funding To Publish “The Bayou Diaries”
John DeSantis is a published author and working journalist. You may remember reading John’s articles covering City of Key West government topics when he reported for the Key West Citizen.
John’s got a bad case of unwithering nspiration. There’s a great book pushing its way through, but he’s a bit tired of being told by traditional publishers that his book won’t work. He’s inspired and he’s writing that book anyway.
John hopes to self publish, distribute and promote “The Bayou Diaries”, a book detailing the story of the Louisiana shrimp fishermen and their struggle to survive. Something he has witnessed and written about for more than a decade.
“The Bayou Diaries” in John’s words, “is the story of men and women who are among the last independent Americans, who have struggled long and hard to keep their culture and their way of life viable.”
If John is able to self-publish he plans on donating a portion of any profits to an appropriate organization that aids fishing families.
