Congressman Garcia Calls on Congress to Lower Federal Student Loan Rates

             Urges House Leadership to Push Bill Forward

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Joe Garcia today issued the following statement regarding student loan interest rates:

“It is time for Congress to help keep college affordable. That’s why I have supported efforts to prevent and reverse the doubling of the Federal student loan rates which took effect on July 1st. This issue is too important for us to delay any further,” urged Garcia. Click here to watch video.

Yesterday, the Senate voted 81-18 to lower interest rates, cutting costs for students of all income levels.
