Bicycle Master Plan Talk, Wednesday March 19th
March is Transportation Month in Key West; what better time to share ideas for an island-wide bicycle master plan?
On Wednesday, March 19th, the Key West Green Drinks meeting will feature Anthony Garcia, the chairman of South Florida’s Green Mobility Network. Garcia is heavily involved with the Bicycle Master Plans in City of Miami, Coral Gables and Miami Beach. He is the principal of the Street Plans Collaborative, specializing in urban design, smart growth, and active transport planning. Garcia received his B.A. in urban planning and architecture studies from New York University and his Masters from the University of Miami School of Architecture. He is vice-president of the Urban Environment League and a member of the Dade Heritage Trust and of the Congress for the New Urbanism.
Key West Green Drinks is a monthly gathering where locals and visitors can learn more about the green goings on in our community. The meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the upstairs Muse Bar at Kelly’s Caribbean Grill & Brewery at 301 Whitehead St. and they’re open to everyone.
These community gatherings collaborate with the City of Key West’s Preserve Island Life program, exploring a new green topic each month.
