Every July 4th, VNA/Hospice holds a wonderfully well-received charitable event to raise critical funds for the respected nonprofit organization. This year was no exception, as Casa Marina in Key West, FL was the place to be for enjoying the holiday with friends and family, and all for a very commendable cause. As is true each year, the 2013 VNA/Hospice 4th of July Picnic excelled, this year raising $70k in donations derived from ticket sales, gift purchases, a silent auction, beach activities, and raffle, game and food tickets.

VNA/Hospice reaches fundraising goals at this incredibly popular holiday event only with the unfaltering commitment and support of many: community attendees and volunteers, silent auction donors far and wide, new and longtime sponsors, and core local businesses and corporate underwriters. Contributions raised remain in Monroe County and are devoted to home healthcare and hospice services for all the island communities throughout the Florida Keys, and further the VNA/Hospice mission to provide care to patients in need, along with their caregivers and loved ones, regardless of ability to pay.

Fundraising events are vital to VNA/Hospice, and more of these events are on deck throughout the fall: October’s “Racy But Tasty” luncheon in Key West and November includes “Parrothead Happy Hour” (presented in conjunction with the island’s Jimmy Buffet convention), the VNA/Hospice Annual Meeting (in Key West and open to the general public), as well as the 2nd Annual Poker Run (taking place in the Upper Keys). VNA/Hospice charitable events in the upcoming months depend on the gracious participation and support of its contributors.        More photos:
