Colors, curves, spirals and tiny flowers are the spirit of my creations.  A collection of objects and amusing jewelry reminiscent of childhood and English candy.  “Lili Bombec” is also a series of small paintings inspired by warm people and warm countries.

                        – Nadia Rosier

Nadia Rosier, a forever-young french artist with a brilliantly impish smile arrived in Key West for the first time in 1986 when she was only 17 years old.    At that time her uncle, Claude Lucas, who had sold his home-made croissants at Mallory Square for a time, was just opening up what is now the award winning Duval Street restaurant, Croissant de France.   Nadia refined her crepe making skills for a time while dutifully helping out her uncle, but before long moved on, prefering to “live like a hippie” in the Key West of the late 1980’s. Key West has always been an inspiring place for Nadia. In fact, she first began painting while sharing a small crash-pad just behind Harpoon Harry’s on Caroline Street with a group of fellow nomads. In 1991, 21 year old Nadia set off for grand adventure and spent many years traveling around the world, living for a time in places like Bali and Thailand, and later Australia.  Nadia now lives in her native France, where she makes a living selling her beautiful creations.   Nadia finally came back for a visit this year.  And yes, it happened all over again, just like when she was a young girl the Key West spell has been cast.   Nadia dreams of coming back to her long lost warm country, to Key West, where her inspiration was born and is full and flowing.

Nadia’s online store is called “Lili Bombec” [‘Bombec’ means sweet in French].  Her daughter Lola, now 16,  is pictured below.
