Town Hall Meeting With Congressman Joe Garcia, Saturday November 2nd
On Saturday, November 2, the Tavernier Community Association (TCA) and the Island of Key Largo Federation of Homeowner Associations (Federation) will host our Congressman, Joe Garcia, who serves the 26th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The town hall meeting will be held at the Monroe County Government Center (Milemarker 102 bayside).
From 4PM until the Congressman arrives from another engagement, attendees may refresh themselves at a cash bar in the lobby courtesy of the Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center, enjoy snacks provided by Federation and TCA members and discuss with their neighbors possible questions to be asked of the Congressman. Blank cards will be provided for that purpose. We have asked Congressman Garcia to address his views on 1) Flood Insurance, 2) The U.S. Budget, 3) Relations with Cuba; and then to entertain questions submitted by the attendees.
The Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center, the Island of Key Largo Federation of Homeowner Associations and the Tavernier Community Association are local nonprofits dedicated to their community. Memberships to each will be available at the Congressman’s gathering. The next Federation meeting will be at 7PM, Wednesday, November 12 at the Key Largo Library Community Room, where Wildlife Biologist Jim Duquesnel—whose rich career specializes in native plants and exotic pest control—will discuss matters of interest to the community. TCA will next meet on Thursday, November 7th at 7PM at the Tavernier Fire House to act on current events of interest.
