Wine Benefit at Salute For Buzzy Rossman: September 4th At Salute
The Community is Coming Together for a Benefit Including a Wine Tasting, Auction & Raffle on September 4th at Salute on the Beach
Long time Key West resident and window washer (he’s the one with that crazy looking bike), Buzzy Rossman, recently suffered a stroke and had to be medivac’d up to Baptist Hospital in Miami. His only insurance is VA and, as such, he has some substantial bills. He also requires several medicines not covered by the VA including one running over $300 per month.
Buzz has spent the last 30 years in Key West and has been intimately involved with the food & wine culture of the city and as such, this community is giving back to him. On Wednesday, September 4th, from 6 to 8 pm; we’ll be having a wine tasting with representatives from Jackson Family Wines, Opici Fine Wines, Premier Beverage, Republic National, Southern Wine & Spirits, Stacole Fine Wines, Transatlantic Wines & Unfiltered Unfined Wines. The entry fee for the tasting is $20; plus, we’ll be having a raffle and silent auction of fine wines and gift certificates for our best restaurants, boat trips and others.
This will be the largest open to the public wine tasting ever held in Key West, so, if you’re into the best that Key West has to offer; join us on Wednesday, September 4th from 6 to 8 pm at Salute out at Higgs Beach (tons of free parking). Come taste some great wines, bid on some great prizes and help out one of Key West’s feistiest, oldest, curmudgeons – Buzzy Rossman.
If you would like to donate anything for the silent auction or raffle; please contact Steve Calderwood at 849-9658/[email protected] or Lucy Alvarido Mayer at 962-3717/luciaalvarido.yahoo.com.
Have known Buzzy for over 56yrs, 3rd grade at Grant st. school. Pity such a big heart has a problem. Wish Chris & I could be in Key West next week. We shall see you later on down the road. Love, John and Chris Waddington.
