Hometown has been advised that the House of Representatives may be in session on September 29. Hometown appreciates Congressman Garcia’s calendar and understands that it may be impossible for him to attend this Forum in light of his constitutional responsibilities to attend upcoming sessions of Congress. If the House of Representatives is in session, Congressman Garcia has an affirmative duty to be in Washington and attend to the matters for which was elected.

Hometown has decided to stay with the September 29 date.  If we changed the date at this time, Rep. Garcia might still be unable to attend on that new date and we have commitments from almost all candidates that they will attend the forum on September 29.

It is always possible that there will not be any conflict with any House of Representatives session. The Congress may adjourn early and reconvene the first week in October.

If Representative Garcia is unable to attend, we tentatively plan to start the forum with Carlos Curbelo speaking for 5-6 minutes–no questions from the panelists. Thereafter, we will invite Mr. Garcia to go to floridakeys.com in Key West and tape a 5-6 minute video that will be posted on the Hometownkeywest channel on You Tube.
